Cultural Field Trips

Program participants receive two field trips that complement the academic component of the program and enrich their experience of the culture of Perú, the Andean regions and the Hispanic world.  These outings highlight different elements of the region, including its topography, pre-Columbian heritage, colonial past, religious tradition, arts and folklore.

Field Trips Offered:

  • Qorikancha, which means 'golden courtyard' in Quechua, a fortress-temple once covered in gold which was dedicated to the Inca sun god Inti, and Saqsahuayman.
  • Machu Picchu (meaning 'Old Peak' in Quechua) is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
