Undergraduate Research and Travel Grants

Support for student research and conference participation in conjunction with a faculty member is supported by these grants. Students may apply twice a year.  Maximum awards are $600 per student per semester/summer and $1,200 per student, per year.  Funded by the Student Association and the Geneseo Foundation.

Application Deadlines: 8:00 am: September 14 (Fall ’15); November 9 (early Spring ’16); February 1 (Spring ’16); April 25 (Summer ’16)

Student Research Assistantship: Dean Johnston and Geneseo Foundation

Provides faculty members with paid research assistance for their scholarly projects. Students work with individual professors for ten weeks during the academic year. Students receive a stipend of $1,000. Funded through the Geneseo Foundation by an endowment established by CPAC, Inc and unrestricted donations.

Application deadlines: October 26, 2015 for Spring 2016 Semester assistantships, February 29, 2016 for Fall 2016 Semester Assistantships.

Undergraduate Summer Fellowships

The Geneseo Foundation, in cooperation with the Research Council, sponsors a total of five undergraduate research fellowships of $3,000 each for the Summer. Recipients must devote two consecutive summer months to their project.

Jason and Diana Kyrwood '95 Student/Faculty Research Endowed Fellowship in Honor of Ellen Kintz

Provides a $2,500 ($500 is also provided by the Geneseo Foundation to make the total award $3,000) for an undergraduate student to work with a faculty member in the social sciences on an existing research project. Recipients must devote two consecutive summer months to the project. Funded through the Geneseo Foundation by an endowment established by Jason and Diana Kyrwood in honor of emerita faculty member Ellen Kintz.

DEADLINE: February 29, 2016

Dr. Wendell and Barbara Rhodes Research Award

Supports research or field study.  All applications to the Geneseo Foundation Undergraduate Summer Fellowships programs (March 6th deadlines) will be considered for the prestigious Rhodes Award, which will provide supplemental funds of $600 (available after July 1, 2015). Preference will be given to scholarly research combining a natural science and a social science such as biology/sociology or geology/anthropology.  Funds may be used for any research-related expenses including student stipends.  Funds must be used by June 30, 2016.  Funded through the Geneseo Foundation by en endowment established by Dr. Wendell and Barbara Rhodes.

 


Graduate Student Programs

Graduate Student Research and Travel Grants

Support graduate student research, scholarly, or creative activities, and conference participation in conjunction with a faculty member. This program is open to full- and part-time graduate students currently enrolled in one of Geneseo's graduate programs. Students may apply twice a year.  Maximum awards are $600 per semester/summer. Funded by the College.
