Electronic Elections
The current plan is to eliminate the paper ballot for the Fall Senate election. Becky Glass took the lead over the summer in suggesting that we ought to be able to run the elections on the web, and Maryann Stopha and CIT have been working on getting the system up and in place. Barring last-minute glitches, I plan on having voting done on the web, which should save a couple of trees and save a few person-hours that are usually spent counting the ballots. Policy concerning distribution of course syllabi.
I anticipate the Policy Committee bringing to the floor a motion to require the distribution of course syllabi in paper form to each class at the beginning of the semester (c.f. Bulletin, p. 65). At press time, I do not have the language of the motion. Come to the Senate meeting and find out!
