Incoming fall students enjoy a sunset on campus during one of the college's orientation sessions.
GENESEO, N.Y. - Incoming freshmen and transfer students have completed their orientation visit this summer in preparation for life on the Geneseo campus when classes begin in September.
Some 1,150 students attended one of seven orientation sessions, according to Kim Harvey, director of new student programs at Geneseo.
"The summer sessions are very successful as they help ease fears and build excitement about entering college life on our campus," said Harvey. "Our focus is on academic and social transition and we are getting excellent feedback that the students are getting exactly what they need."
The students attending orientation register for classes and at the end of the two-day session leave with their class schedule. Fall classes begin at Geneseo Aug. 27.
Assisting Harvey in the college's orientation program are 22 orientation advisers and three student orientation coordinators.
