GENESEO, N.Y. -- The third annual issue of LIVE magazine is being distributed to Livingston County businesses and the SUNY Geneseo campus this week. First published in 2008, LIVE is free magazine produced by Geneseo students targeted towards their fellow students. Articles focus on events and activities available in Geneseo and surrounding towns. Students write and design the publication and student sales representatives sell advertising for the four-color publication. It offers students the opportunity to develop professional skills and increase their level of campus involvement.
The current issue features articles offering readers suggestions on how to stretch their dollar, and how to spend a day in Geneseo, Mt. Morris, or Dansville on less than $20. Additionally, graduating seniors compiled their very own “Geneseo Bucket List”- a list of places to see and things to do before any student leaves Geneseo.
Also inside is an exclusive interview with Greg O’Connell, of the O’Connell Organization. O’Connell is currently involved in a full-scale downtown revitalization project in Mount Morris.
The magazine is designed to revolutionize the way students experience the local community; to excite readers about the places, activities, and opportunities available in Livingston and Wyoming counties; and to encourage rapport between the Geneseo campus and the surrounding towns.
LIVE offers area businesses the opportunity to directly market to the student body at an affordable cost. The publication is available at the establishments of all advertisers, in the MacVittie College Union, residence halls, and at new student orientation.
