GENESEO, N.Y. -- The SUNY Geneseo String Band, directed by Department of Music Lecturer Jim Kimball, will be playing its one and only square dance of the spring semester Feb. 2 from 8 to 11 p.m. in the MacVittie Union Ballroom.
The band, composed primarily of Geneseo students, will be playing music for old-time eastern style dancing, and basic instruction will be available from Kimball and guest callers. No experience is necessary.
The event is open to the public. General admission is $3. Student admission is $1, and admission for children 12 and younger is free. Parking is free at any of the nearby faculty parking lots.
The event is sponsored by SUNY Geneseo's Department of Music.
