Rose Anderson Named to SUNY Geneseo Alumni Post

GENESEO, N.Y. – The State University of New York at Geneseo has named Rose G. Anderson assistant vice president for alumni relations.  Anderson comes to Geneseo from SUNY Plattsburgh, where she served as director of alumni affairs and executive director of the Plattsburgh Alumni Association since 1997.

“We are fortunate to have an award-winning alumni affairs specialist from a sister campus assume the leadership of this vital function within our advancement team,” said Christopher C. Dahl, SUNY Geneseo president.  “Geneseo has thousands of graduates in all parts of the world who have lasting memories of their experience here and appreciate the educational foundation they received,” he said.  “We look forward to Rose’s reaching out to our alumni in innovative ways to keep them engaged with their alma mater.”

Anderson was associate director of alumni affairs at SUNY Plattsburgh for two years prior to being named director in 1997.  She received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service in 2007.   She is active in a variety of volunteer work and is a board member of College Auxiliary Services, a not-for-profit organization that provides an assortment of services to college campuses such as dining services. 

“I couldn’t be more pleased to have Rose as a member of our staff,” said Michael Catillaz, vice president for advancement at Geneseo.  “She has a strong record of accomplishment and brings great energy to Geneseo.”

 Anderson received a bachelor’s degree with high honors from SUNY Plattsburgh, where she majored in speech communications and minored in business. 

“It's a sincere pleasure and privilege to be here at SUNY Geneseo, which is recognized as one of the finest public liberal arts colleges in our country,” said Anderson.  “I look forward to working with the entire Geneseo family -- alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends -- in making a difference in advancing the college's alumni program.”
