Kim Faber of SUNY Geneseo Elected
to Board of SUNYCUAD
GENESEO, N.Y.—Kim Faber, assistant vice president of college advancement, has been elected to the board of directors for the State University of New York Council for University Advancement (SUNYCUAD).
Faber joins a 17-member board of statewide representatives that meets quarterly to set a course for the professional development organization serving SUNY's advancement professionals. She was elected to help steer the development track of the group.
Faber joined Geneseo in 2003 as major gifts officer. In April 2006, she was promoted to assistant vice president for college advancement, a position in which she oversees the college's development program, including major and planned giving, the annual fund, the parents program and corporate and foundation relations.
Faber, of Honeoye Falls, N.Y., received her bachelor's degree in 1988 from Geneseo.
Focusing on professional
development, SUNYCUAD has evolved since its founding in the 1950s from a small
corps of public relations officers to a diverse membership of advancement
professionals who are responsible for publications, Web sites and electronic
communications, alumni relations, public relations, publicity, marketing and
development. Through workshops and an annual conference, SUNYCUAD creates a
climate in which members share best practices, support initiatives that will
benefit the state university and promote the professional development of new
members. All full-time professionals working in university advancement at the
64 SUNY campuses, as well as at SUNY system administration, are SUNYCUAD
members.
