A "Knight on the Town" Theme of this Year's Homecoming
at SUNY Geneseo
GENESEO, N.Y. — "A Knight on the Town" is the theme of
this year's Homecoming at the State University of New York at Geneseo, which
will be Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
Events will include an All Alumni Homecoming kick-off event
from 8:30-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, with entertainment by the Rochester band
Reporter. Tickets are $10 per person and includes entertainment, pizza and
wings. A cash bar will be available.
Academic departments will hold open houses from 11:30 a.m.-2
p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. A new career connections brunch will be held from 10:30
a.m.-noon in the MacVittie College Union Ballroom, giving students a chance to
meet alumni working in various fields.
In addition, the McClellan House—which houses the Irma
Hamer Collins '42 Alumni Center and the Lockhart Gallery—will hold an
open house and reception from noon-2 p.m. Saturday. At 6 p.m., selected former
Geneseo athletes will be inducted into the college's Sports Hall of Fame during
a reception and dinner. A street fair from 5-8 p.m. on Bank Street will bring
together students, alumni, local residents and families.
The Limelight & Accents series kicks off its season at 8
p.m. Saturday with "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)." The
School of the Arts will present Wendy Wasserstein's "An American Daughter"
throughout the week, including weekend performances at 8 p.m. Friday and
Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets may be bought online at http://bbo.geneseo.edu/?pg=season.html.
Fireworks will cap off the evening at 10:30 p.m. Saturday on
the college's athletic fields.
