THURSDAY, MARCH 20:
LOCKHART GALLERY: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House,
26 Main St., Geneseo, presents Perilous Worlds of Olive Ahyens. Paintings and Works on Paper. The exhibit runs through Saturday,
March 29 and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are noon-4 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and noon-6
p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
MAYA CULTURE EXHIBIT: The Milne Library Gallery at SUNY Geneseo is proud to
announce the opening of a new exhibit on art and Maya life at Milne Library
through March 31, 2008. "An
Artist's World" and "The Children of Coba | Los Ninos Coba Indigenas" reflects
the artistic culture and community of Coba, Quintana Roo, Mexico through the
lens of universal art, folk art, wood sculpture, textiles and photography. The
exhibit, prepared by Dr. Ellen R. Kintz, Department of Anthropology, SUNY
Geneseo, is based on her fieldwork and development work from the late 1970's to
the present. The displays are sponsored by the College's Anthropology
department and Milne Library. For
