THURSDAY, JANUARY
31:
LOCKHART GALLERY: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House,
26 Main St., Geneseo, presents More Than a Book: Imagination, Tools, Creation
featuring artists books from the Experimental Printmaking Institute, Lafayette
College. Guest curator will be
MaryAnn Miller. The exhibit runs through Saturday, Feb. 16 and is free and open
to the public. Gallery hours are
noon-4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and noon-8 p.m. Thursdays.
LEDERER GALLERY: The School of the Arts and Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery in Brodie Hall
will present Within Our Gates: Site and Memory in the American Landscape, an
exhibition of paintings by Keith Morris Washington that probe American history
by memorializing sites where lynchings occurred. Artist talk is 4 p.m. and opening reception is 5-7 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 7. The exhibit runs
through February 22. Gallery hours
are noon-4 p.m. Mondays–Thursdays and 12-6 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays. The event is free and open to the
public.
LECTURE: Dave Dennis will deliver the keynote lecture for the Martin Luther King
Jr. Commemoration at 7 p.m. in the College Union ballroom. A former Freedom
Rider, Dennis worked closely with a number of Civil Rights Movement
organizations and activists in organizing voter registration drives in the
1960s. He currently serves as director of Community and Site Development for

MUSICAL PRESENTATION: The SUNY Geneseo Limelight & Accents Series will
present Rockapella at 8 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. Often imitated, never duplicated,
this certifiably unique pop musical group has taken the previously stodgy music
genre of a cappella and brought it full force into the 21st
century. As the undisputed kings
of contemporary a cappella music, Rockapella continues to offer proof to
everyone of their boundless ability to inspire and attract devoted fans, new
and old. Tickets are $5 for
students, $7 for 12 and under, $12 for faculty/staff/alumni, and $15 for the
general public. To purchase

525-2070. The SUNY Geneseo Limelight & Accents Series is funded by
mandatory Student Association fees and coordinated by the college's Activities
Commission.
SQUARE DANCE: A square dance with the Geneseo String Band will be
held at 8 p.m. in the MacVittie College Union Ballroom. Admission for the general public is $3,
students and spectators $1 and 12 and under are free.
