SUNY Geneseo President Christopher C. Dahl, Student
Josh Hyman Appointed to SUNY Chancellor Search Committee
GENESEO, N.Y. — Christopher C. Dahl, president of the
State University of New York at Geneseo, and Josh Hyman, a student at the
college, are two of 14 individuals appointed to the State University of New
York's Chancellor Search Committee.
The Chancellor Search Committee comprises SUNY trustees,
presidents, faculty, one student and citizens who regularly volunteer their
services on behalf of the University.
Dahl was appointed to his current post as president in
February 1996, after having served as provost and interim president. Before
coming to Geneseo, he served as Dean of the School of Humanities and Social
Sciences at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, from 1989 to 1994, and as
a professor of English and chair of the Humanities Department at the University
of Michigan-Dearborn, from 1973 to 1989.
Hyman, of Port Washington, N.Y., is the student member on
the SUNY Board of Trustees and is president of the SUNY Student Assembly.
The search committee's first meeting was held on Aug. 1 at
the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. For more

Former U.S. Navy Vice Admiral John R. Ryan was named acting
Chancellor by the SUNY Board of Trustees April 12, 2005 and took office June 1,
2005.
