CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR APRIL 28-MAY 4

THURSDAY, APRIL 28:

LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery in Brodie Hall presents the Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. The gallery is open daily from 2-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, April 29.

LOCKHART GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House, presents a multimedia installation by Cyril Reade titled "O’ Jerusalem." Reade, an internationally exhibited sculptor, is an assistant professor of art at Rochester Institute of Technology. Originally exhibited in the Art Gallery of the CUNY College of Staten Island, "O’ Jerusalem" combines drawings, brass reliefs, sculpture in the round and photography, to explore the complex interrelations between Arab and Israeli culture as embodied in both the current and the historical situation of Jerusalem. The gallery is open daily from 2-5 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, May 6.

OPUS GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Opus Gallery in the MacVittie College Union presents Jaime Balduf’s Senior Show. The gallery is open daily from 1-5 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Sunday, May 1.

PERFORMANCE: The School of Performing Arts presents GENseng, Geneseo’s Asian American Performance Ensemble, performing "A Korean Comedy of Errors" by William Shakespeare. 7 p.m., Robert Sinclair Theatre, Brodie Hall. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Brodie Box Office (245-5833).

WALK AND TALK: Gregg Hartvigsen, associate professor of biology at the State University of New York at Geneseo, will deliver a talk about the history and ecological importance of the oak tree during a walk at 2 p.m. in the college’s Spencer J. Roemer Arboretum, which is home to several large oak trees. Free and open to the public.

SUNDAY, MAY 1:

CONCERT: The School of Performing Arts presents the Geneseo Festival Chorus, the Geneseo Chamber Singers and the Geneseo Symphony Orchestra. 3 p.m., Wadsworth Auditorium. Free and open to the public.
