SUNY Geneseo calendar of events for Feb. 23-March 1
THURSDAY, FEB. 23:
COLLEGE UNION ART GALLERY EXHIBIT: The College Union Art Galley, on the second floor
of the MacVittie College Union, presents an installation by artist Audrey
Russell titled "Bearings." The gallery is open Mondays 2-5 p.m., Tuesdays
12:30-5 p.m., Wednesdays 2-7 p.m., Thursdays 12:30-7 p.m., Fridays 2-5 p.m. and
Saturdays 12-4 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through
Saturday, Feb. 25.
LECTURE: The
Contemporary Forum presents a lecture by Al Norman, founder and consultant for
Sprawl-Busters. Sprawl-Busters is an international clearinghouse on big box
sprawl issues, and organizing consultant to hundreds of communities around the
world. They "help local community coalitions on-site to design and implement
successful campaigns against mega stores and other undesirable large-scale
developments." 7 p.m., MacVittie College Union Ballroom. Free and open to the
public.
LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery, in Brodie
Hall, presents an exhibit by Elmira College Art Faculty. The gallery is open
daily from 2-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The
exhibit runs through Friday, Feb. 24.
FRIDAY, FEB. 24:
COLLEGE UNION ART GALLERY EXHIBIT: (See Thursday, Feb. 23).
CONCERT: The School
of the Arts presents the Geneseo Wind Ensemble and the R.I.T. Concert Band. 8
p.m., Wadsworth Auditorium. Free and open to the public.
LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: (See Thursday, Feb. 23). Last day.
LOCKHART GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the
McClellan House, presents an exhibit titled "The Legacy of Susan B." There will
be a reception on Friday, March 3 from 5-7 p.m. The gallery is open daily from
11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Fridays 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Free and open to the public.
The exhibit runs through Friday, March 31.
SATURDAY, FEB. 25:

SQUARE DANCING: The
School of the Arts presents Square Dancing with the Geneseo String Band. 8
p.m., MacVittie College Union Ballroom. Admission at the door is $3 for the
general public, $1 for SUNY Geneseo students and spectators, and free for
children 12 and under.
SUNDAY, FEB. 26:
CONCERT: The School
of the Arts presents the Geneseo Chamber Singers and Carol Choristers. 3 p.m.,
Geneseo Central Presbyterian Church, Geneseo. Free and open to the public.
