SUNY GENESEO TO PRESENT THEATRICAL COMEDY, "BOYS LIFE"
GENESEO, N.Y. SUNY Geneseo will stage the theatrical comedy "Boys Life" in the colleges Robert Sinclair Theatre, William A. Brodie Hall, with performances at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 through Saturday, Sept. 27; 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28; and 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29 through Tuesday, Sept. 30. Tickets are $7 and may be reserved by phone at (585) 245-5833 or purchased in person at the Brodie Ticket Office.
Written by Howard Korder and first produced in New York Citys Lincoln Center, "Boys Life" traces the misadventures of three former college buddies now seeking to make their way in the big city, and the various women of their acquaintance.
In a sharp and biting style, the play points out the cultural influences that keep these men from growing up, and it was described by Frank Rich in the New York Times as "an exact philosophical antithesis of Its A Wonderful Life."
The Geneseo production will be directed by SUNY Geneseo School of Performing Arts Professor Terry Browne, who describes the play as a "post-modern comedy of manners."
Working with Browne, in addition to a talented cast of Geneseo theatre students, will be Assistant Professor Michaeleen Melita (costume design); Associate Professor Johnnie Ferrell (sound design); and students David Weston (lighting design), S. Laila Bayne (set design), Kay Wallace (stage manager) and Debra Comins (assistant stage manager).
For more information on this production, contact its director, Terry Browne, by phone at (585) 245-5842, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
