Jessica Shatzel, class of 2013, has been named this year's Program Coordinator for the Make Your Mark! - Student Giving Program. Jessica is an English major and has worked as a Development Assistant for The Fund for Geneseo since 2009. As a Development Assistant, Jessica has reached out to alumni, parents and friends of Geneseo learning about their relationships with the college and securing gifts to The Fund for Geneseo to help fund programs such as student life activities, acedemics, athletics, research, scholarships and so much more. This past summer Jessica began working for the American Cancer Society as a Fundraising and Recruitment Specialist for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk of Rochester. In 2012 she also served as the Chair of SUNY Geneseo's Relay for Life.
When asked about her new position Jessica stated, "As the Program Coordinator for the 2013 Make Your Mark! - Student Giving Challenge, I am looking forward to working with my fellow students to educate underclassmen about philanthropy and the importance of giving back to Geneseo before graduation as well as our communities once we leave."
Jessica is hoping to increase school spirit, student participation and procure much needed additional funds to The Fund for Geneseo through events designed to bring students together on campus and in the community. She is excited to join her classmates in celebrating and commemorating their time at Geneseo while helping to continue opportunities for current and future generations of Geneseo students.
