What are the residence halls (dormitories) like?
Geneseo offers accommodations in 17 different residence halls, three of which (Wyoming, Steuben and Wayne Halls) are open during all school breaks and vacations. The residence halls include first-year student housing centers, upperclass halls and townhouses (which International Students can reside in during school breaks and vacations.) Every Geneseo student is guaranteed on-campus housing all four years.
There are two basic residence hall designs: corridor and suite. All residence halls are co-ed however, bed, rooms, suites, and bathrooms are single sex. In most cases men and women live in separate sections of a residence hall.
What about safety in the residence halls?
Each building is secure and locked. Students may only enter their residence halls with a valid student identification card and personal security code number. Each bedroom has its own lock and the doors to suites have combination or key access locks.
