What does it mean to be a prison of war  and to be forced to dig a hole?  This drawing exhibition by Rio Takemura is to tribute to the power of poetry to remain ever present in the mind.  Images triggered by words that produce images.  The act of digging a meaningless hole meant to re-enforce power relations and ensures that both the empowered position of the solider, in this case and the powerlessness of the prisoner know their place.

However, if the artist, the reader of the poem allows the words to free form images what else might take shape and form in the mind of the reader, speaker, listener.  This powerful exhibition of ten drawings reveals to us the unusual paths such words can take.
