The second shutdown will occur on Thursday, May 24, 2012 to make critical repairs to the campus' medium voltage system. The work will require a shutdown of circuit #6, which affects Saratoga, Saratoga boiler house and Holcomb. The work will begin at 7:00 a.m., with electric loss planned for 8:00 a.m. The duration of the shutdown will be 4-6 hours. We will utilize Facilities' mobile generator to power Holcomb and support lights, fire protection, window air conditioning units, data and phones.
The third and final shutdown is scheduled for Friday, May 25, 2012, again to make critical repairs to the medium voltage system. This will require shutdown of circuit #13, which affects the following buildings: Erie, Seneca, Ontario, Steuben, Wyoming, Putnam, Genesee and Allegany, which houses summer school students. It will also result in loss of electric for Letchworth and Clark B. The planned duration is 8-10 hours and will begin at 7:00 a.m., with loss of electric at 8:00 a.m.
These repairs were scheduled after a considerable amount of discussion and review. The above dates are based on what is considered to be the least disruption to campus activity. We appreciate your patience. Any concerns should be addressed to the Work Control Center, x5662. Thank you.
