New Internships and Other Opportunities

GREAT Day organizers are looking for a student intern to assist with marketing and promotion, volunteer management, logistics, and other duties. Students should have strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, along with an understanding of social media. Interested students may click here to download and print the application. Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) is hosting their 58th Annual Advertising Career Conference this November. Included in cost of admission for students is a year-long membership to AWNY. Tickets for students are $150 with a ten percent discount to groups of ten students or more. For more information about the conference, please click here. To register, click here. Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) is hosting a conference at the University of Miami this spring. SUNY Geneseo has been accepted as a member of the CGI U network, which enables students to receive travel stipends and seed funding for projects that align with CGI U's focus areas. For information about the conference and the organization, click here. All applications must first be submitted to Geneseo's Center for Inquiry, Discovery and Development (CIDD) for review here. Dr. Broomfield is looking for an intern to do research for his work-in-progress documentary, Passing for Almost Straight. The intern would research contacts for the following organizations and blogs: dance; HIV/AIDS; LGBTQ; Queer Arts; Black LGBTQ; African and African American Studies; LGBT Studies; Gender Studies; and Performance Studies academics. Additionally, the intern would help to develop and design a pitch video as well as coordinate social media for the project. Interested students should contact Dr. Broomfield for more information.

Seneca Waterways Council of the Boy Scouts of America has a marketing internship available. Students will work in public relations, media relations, marketing communications, social media, and assist with special events. The interns will also be responsible for preparing newsletters. Demos has extended their application deadline for a FULL-TIME JOB OPENING! Based in New York City, Demos is looking to hire a new Associate Director of Communications. This position's responsibilities include a mixture of media relations and department management. This is not an entry-level position, but Demos is looking for candidates with strong skillsets more than any particular amount of experience.
