Recommended Hardware:

CIT provides the following recommendations for your department's continued usage of older computer equipment. Please review this information and contact the CIT HelpDesk (x5588, helpdesk@geneseo.edu) if you have any questions or are uncertain of the specifications of a system.
NOTE: The below information is updated on a regular basis!

Below are the minimum specifications for computer hardware that can be connected to the Geneseo network domain:

Apple Macintosh

RAM: 2GB
Hard Disk: 160GB
Operating System: OS X 10.6 (10.7 preferred)

Windows

RAM: 2GB
Hard Disk: 160GB
Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP3 (Windows 7 Professional preferred)


Personally Owned Computers:

CIT does not provide support for personally owned computers or any peripherals attached to them.
