2012 Women's Soccer Team

2012 Geneseo Women's Soccer

The Geneseo women's soccer team has been an intercollegiate sport since 1981. Head coach Nate Wiley is a 1999 graduate of Geneseo and has a record of 69-47-13 after seven seasons. The program was started by Fred Bright and has compiled a record of 360-195-51 in its 32 seasons.

The 2012 women's soccer team closed its season with a 3-1-1 record in its final five matches, finishing the year with a record of 3-10-3 including a 2-5-2 mark in SUNYAC competition. Senior Shannon Spusta earned all-conference honors after leading the team with six points on three goals. Junior Julia Sanger started all but one game in goal and compiled 1.25 goals-against average with three shutouts. Junior Michelle Barnum, first year Marissa Benson, senior Bethany Kwarta, junior Olivia Panepinto helped anchor a defense that allowed just over a goal per game.
