Sophomore Kayla DeAngelis (pictured left) had a goal and an assist to lead the Geneseo women's field hockey team to a 2-0 win over visiting Houghton this afternoon. DeAngelis received a penalty corner and sent the ball to the left hand post, where sophomore Bridget McGovern converted the pass at 21:44 for a 1-0 lead. In the second half, DeAngelis scored on a transition goal as sophomore Kerry Hosford got the assist after sprinting down the middle on a 3-on-2 and sending a through ball to DeAngelis on the right side for a mini-breakaway. Geneseo's defense held the Highlanders to four shots and junior Nicole Zito made two saves to post the victory in nets. Geneseo is 3-1 on the season and hosts Oswego on Friday at 4 p.m.
