Senior Brittany Finkle posted a double-double with 14 points on 7-11 shooting with 12 rebounds, four steals and three assists to lead the top-seeded Geneseo women's basketball team to a 73-33 blitzing of #8 Brockport tonight in a SUNYAC tournament quarterfinal contest. Junior Bri Dunton and sophomore Melissa Graham each hit 5-7 from the field and 2-2 from the line for 13 points, with Dunton adding seven assists and Graham collecting five boards and four steals. Seniors Khadija Campbell and Alyssa Polosky added to the balanced attack with nine points apiece with six rebounds for the former and six assists for the latter. Junior Stephanie Ruback came off the bench to score five points on 5-6 from the line. Geneseo used an 11-0 run to take a 16-5 lead with 13:31 remaining in the first half on their way to a 34-12 lead at intermission and the Golden Eagles never got closer. The Blue Knights move to 23-3 on the season and advance to the semifinal round. Geneseo serves as host for the remainder of the tournament and entertain #4 Cortland (19-6), a 66-57 winner over #5 Buffalo State, on Friday at 8 p.m. Second-seeded Oneonta (20-6), who defeated #7 Plattsburgh, 68-53, takes on #3 New Paltz (16-10), a 69-54 victor over #6 Oswego, in the 6 p.m. semifinal in the Schrader Gymnasium. The tournament championship game is slated for Saturday at 4 p.m.
