SUNY Geneseo is pleased to announce the hiring of Dave Prevosti as Geneseo's full-time women's and men's indoor and outdoor track and field coach. Prevosti was promoted to full-time after spending eight years as the part-time head track and field coach at SUNY Geneseo.
"Dave came out of a very qualified candidate pool for this new full-time position," said Mike Mooney, director of intercollegiate athletics. "He has been a successful, knowledgable, hard working member of our staff and we anticipate a smooth transition into his expanded duties."
In his eight seasons as the part-time head track and field coach, Prevosti led Geneseo to 13 SUNYAC titles and was named SUNYAC Coach of the Year on eight occasions.
A 1996 graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Prevosti served as an assistant coach at his alma mater for for four seasons and spent two years as the Program Coordinator at the Voller Athletic Center.
A native of Maplecrest, N.Y., Prevosti participated for four seasons of indoor and three seasons of outdoor track and field for the Raiders. His specialties were the sprints, sprint relays, long and triple jumps and he twice finished third at the National Christian College Athletic Association championships.
Prevosti earned his master's degree in athletic administration from SUNY Brockport in 2003, did his administrative intership at SUNY Geneseo and is a certified strength and conditioning coach and a certified instructor in AED, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Community First Aid and Safety and Lifeguard Training.
