Potsdam, N.Y. – The Geneseo men’s basketball team (14-8,
10-5 SUNYAC) dropped a 75-61 decision to host Potsdam (9-12, 5-9 SUNYAC) Friday
in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.
The Knights pulled to within a point late in the first half on a free throw by
senior forward Ryan Riefenhauser (Dobbs Ferry/Dobbs Ferry) but the host Bears
scored the last five points of the period and outscored Geneseo 40-32 in the
second half.
Sophomore forward Gordon Lyons (Amherst/Canisius) led the Knights with 24 points (including
11-of-15 shooting from the floor) and 19 rebounds. The double-double was his
eighth of the year.
Junior guard Connor Fedge (Bellport/Bellport) scored 11 points and pulled down
seven rebounds. Junior guard Jordan Jones (Rochester/McQuaid) added 10 points.
Riefenhauser led Geneseo with five assists.
The Knights return to action Saturday with an 8 p.m. game at Plattsburgh.
