Medford, Mass. – The Geneseo men’s track & field team won the distance medley relay at Saturday’s Tufts Last Chance Invitational to qualify for the NCAA Championships, posting the nation’s top time and recording the program’s third-fastest time ever.

The quartet of senior Chris Carter (Grand Island/Grand Island), senior Jesse Cleary-Krell (Syracuse/Westhill), junior Tony George (West Seneca West/West Seneca) and senior Alex Brimstein (Webster/Thomas) posted a time of 9:56.22, bettering their 10:06.32 from earlier this season.

Five other Knights recorded top-10 performances, including first year Adrian Bergere (Bethlehem/Delmar), who cleared 1.87 meters (6-1 1/2) to place second in the high jump.

Junior Liam Collins (Troy/Averill Park) finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.13 meters (43-1) and first year Brendan Wortner (Dobbs Ferry/Dobbs Ferry) took fourth in the 3,000-meter run (8:58.44).

First year Cohen Miles-Rath (Cohocton/Wayland-Cohocton) was seventh in the 5,000-meter run and senior Brendan Murphy (Katonah/Iona Prep) placed seventh in the weight throw (14.63 meters/48-0).
