GENESEO, N.Y. – The Geneseo women’s basketball team (12-4,
8-2 SUNYAC) matched a season high with nine three-point baskets, beating
visiting Fredonia (8-7, 3-6) 70-51 in a State University of New York Athletic
Conference (SUNYAC) game Tuesday.
The Knights shot 64.3 percent from three-point range, led by first year guard
Dana Cohan (Rochester/Greece Athena), who made all five of her shots en route
to a career-best 20 points off the Geneseo bench.
Senior guard Melissa Graham (Orchard Park/Mount Mercy) added 13 points, raising
her career total to 911 points; she’s the 14th Knight to reach 900 points.
Graham pulled down a game-high seven rebounds and contributed two assists, two
steals and two blocked shots.
Sophomore forward Shannon McGinnis (Walworth/Gananda) finished with 12 points,
five rebounds and three assists. First year forward Allison McKenna
(Huntington/John Glenn) scored eight points and senior forward Nyisha Lewis (Rochester/Mercy)
pulled down a career high six rebounds.
The Knights continue their homestand Friday, hosting unbeaten New Paltz at 6
p.m. The Hawks are atop the SUNYAC standings with an 8-0 record while Geneseo
is in second place at 8-2.
