The Geneseo men's ice hockey team hosted nationally #2 ranked Oswego (15-2-2/8-0-2 SUNYAC) tonight and dropped a 4-1 decision to the Lakers as Chris Brown, Chris Ayotte, Tyler Leimbrock and Jared Anderson scored goals and Jesse McConney had two assists. Geneseo scored first in the contest when junior Colin de Jersey's shot from the left point was deflected by senior Jonathan Redlick to the right post, where first year Zach Martin was all alone and scored his second of the season at 10:34 of the first. Oswego tied the game at 14:19 of the second period and took the lead with a five-on-three power play goal at 17:23 for a 2-1 lead at the second intermission. In the third period, Oswego got goals at 3:04 and 17:32 to seal the win. Junior Andrew Hare made 19 saves to earn the win in nets for the Lakers, while Geneseo senior Cory Gershon stopped 21 shots in taking the loss. The Ice Knights fall to 10-10-0 overall and 4-7-0 in SUNYAC and host the Cortland Red Dragons on Saturday at 7 p.m.
