Sophomore Steve Sachman scored a pair of third period goals to help the visiting Brockport Golden Eagles (1-4-1/1-3-1 SUNYAC) to an upset win over #14 Geneseo, 6-1. Geneseo scored the opening goal of the game at 14:49 of the first period when junior Colin de Jersey scored on a shot from the point on an assist from sophomore Zachary Vit on the power play. The Golden Eagles responded at 17:58 to tie the game on a goal by Mike Hollander. Brockport scored three times in the second period to take control of the contest with scores at 1:30, 17:37 and a power play goal at 19:38. Sachman scored unassisted on the power play at 10:58 of the third after a Geneseo turnover and he got a shorthanded goal on a breakaway at the 12:31 mark. Brockport's Oliver Wren made 27 saves to post the win, while Geneseo's Adrian Rubeniuk stopped 25 shots in taking the loss. Geneseo falls to 3-3-0 overall and 3-2-0 in SUNYAC and hosts Framingham St. on Saturday at 7 p.m.
