GENESEO, N.Y. – The #21 Geneseo ice hockey team (8-4-1) stretched its winning streak to five with a 6-2 victory over visiting Salve Regina (4-9-1) Saturday.

The Knights, who own Division III’s second-longest active winning streak, scored four second-period goals to pull away for the win.

Senior forward Corbin Rosmarin (Rexford/Northern Cyclones) had a hand in the team’s first three goals and notched his second two-goal game of the season; his first score put Geneseo on the board just 3:55 into the game and his second – 5:20 into the second period – was the game-winner. Senior forward Kaz Iwamoto (Tomakomai, Japan/Wyoming Seminary) and first year forward Brent Bisdee (Ottawa, Ont./Kanata Stallions) both contributed two assists. Bisdee’s were his first points of his career.

Iwamoto and sophomore defenseman Alex Lubczuk (Kitchener, Ont./Georgetown Raiders) set up Rosmarin for the game’s first goal and the Seahawks tied the score late in the opening period. Senior forward Ryan Bulach (Kelowna, B.C./Trail Smoke Eaters) put Geneseo up for good just 35 seconds into the second period with a power-play goal assisted by Rosmarin and sophomore forward Tyler Brickler (Riverwoods, Ill./UMass-Lowell). Bulach leads the Knights with five power-play goals.

Rosmarin’s second goal of the game was his sixth of the season (matching Bulach for the team lead). Bulach and Iwamoto assisted on the score with Iwamoto recording his seventh assist on the play.

Sophomore forward Justin Scharfe (Webster/Bridgewater Bandits) scored a short-handed goal midway through the period and assisted on the Knight’s next goal. Bisdee and sophomore defenseman Jack Caradonna (Markham, Ont./Stouffville Spirit) assisted on Scharfe’s goal (his second of the season) and junior forward Zachary Vit (Villanova, Pa./Green Mountain Glades) netted his third goal of the year to close out the second period scoring.

The game’s final goal came from junior forward AJ Sgaraglio (Hicksville/New York Bobcats), who picked up the first goal of his career off assists from Bisdee and junior forward Garry Childerhose (Altoona, Man./Mel fort Mustangs).

First year Nick Horrigan (Mount Forest, Ont./Elmira Sugar Kings) made his first career start and recorded a personal-high 20 saves in earning his first collegiate victory.

The Knights continue non-conference play Tuesday with a 7 p.m. game at Adrian.
