Ithaca, N.Y. – The Geneseo men’s swimming & diving team wrapped up the first of three days of competition at Ithaca’s Bomber Invitational in sixth place. The Blue Knights have 131 points after one day at the 11-team meet.

Geneseo recorded six top-20 performances with the highest finish coming from sophomore John Nasky (Rochester/Brighton), who was eighth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:48.33. First year Benjamin Greenspan (Williamsville/Williamsville South) took 20th in the event (4:56.56).

The 200-yard medley relay placed ninth. The foursome of first years Kristian Tialios (Mount Tremper/Onteora), Justin Ongkingco (Watertown/Watertown) and Yunghoon Jun (Nanuet/Tappan Zee) and senior Frank Schiappa (East Amherst/Canisius) finishing in 1:39.24. Schiappa was 10th in the 50-yard freestyle (21.59) and Tialios took 11th in the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.76).

Junior Brandon Peifer (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) finished 10th in the 1-meter diving with a score of 372.65.
