The Geneseo campus has many outstanding athletic facilities including the Myrtle A. Merritt Athletic Center, Carl Schrader Complex, tennis courts, the track & field complex, Saratoga Field (soccer/lacrosse), Upper Alumni Field (field hockey) and Vic Raschi Softball Field.

The Myrtle A. Merritt Athletic Center contains the Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena, Louise Kuhl Gymnasium, the Alumni Pool, a state of the art fitness center, squash courts, and the offices of the athletic department staff.

The 2,500 capacity Wilson Ice Arena is home to the Geneseo Ice Knights hockey team. A large community following and great student support makes the Ice Knights Geneseo's fan favorite. In addition, Geneseo Finger Lakes Youth Hockey calls the arena home, using more than 30 hours of ice time on a weekly basis.

Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena


The Carl Schrader Gymnasium is the home to the women's volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams. Renovated in the spring and summer, the gym opened for competition in the fall of 2006 and has a capacity of 1,000 spectators. In addition, the complex contains four racquetball courts, academic classrooms and a free weight training facility.

The Alumni pool houses the men's and women's swimming & diving teams. With a six-lane capacity and its own diving well, the facility is used for all home intercollegiate meets along with high school sectionals and community recreation time.

The Louise Kuhl Gymnasium is Geneseo's recreational and special event facility. With a capacity of 3000, the facility plays host to Section V volleyball, basketball and cheerleading championships, along with all intramurals and recreation activities. The Kuhl Gym is the site for concerts and convocations.

Leg Up Stables on Avon Rd. in Geneseo is the home to the Knights women's equestrian team. The 300-acre farm is home to more than 70 horses and with quality training facility.

The Workout Center, Geneseo's top-of-the-line fitness area, has two large rooms for student and faculty use. For a reasonable membership fee, the center provides stairmaster and treadmills, two nautilus circuits, and extensive free weights in one area with elliptical and rowing machines and stationary bikes in the aerobics room.

The athletic training department at Geneseo is comprised of two full-time ATC staff members, along with student help. The department comes equipped with ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, hot packs and both warm and cold whirlpools. In addition, the department has it's own rehabilitation room and a comfortable taping area.

Geneseo's office area provides each head coach with his or her own office along with a comfortable lounge and an impressive conference room.

In addition, the facility houses the athletic study center, an area with study carrols, large tables, and both MacIntosh and PC platforms, which is open to all athletes more than 20 hours a week.
