Clermont, Fla. – The Geneseo softball team (4-7) dropped a
3-1 decision to Bowdoin (10-5) Friday morning.
The Knights were held to just three hits; the first was a second-inning solo home
run by senior outfielder Lexi Williams (Waterford/Shenendehowa) that tied the score at 1-1. The home run
was her second of the season and the ninth of her career.
Geneseo put four more runners on base, including two in the sixth. Junior first
baseman Samantha Trapasso (Garden City/Garden City) drew a one-out walk and
Williams followed with a single but the Polar Bears escaped damage by ending
the inning on a ground ball.
Sophomore Corrin Spallone (Greece/Greece Arcadia) threw a complete-game five
hitter, striking out eight.
The Knights wrap up their spring trip with an afternoon game against Elmhurst.
